Description

4 people were killed in an Illinois helicopter crash on Wednesday night during an emergency medical hospital transfer. According to the service company Air Angels, the helicopter had no problems before takeoff and questionable weather was not an issue. A 1-year-old girl, the pilot, nurse and paramedic died in the open-field crash which some onlookers say appeared to have been caused when the copter clipped a nearby radio tower wire. No victim names have been released.

The Carribbean area just received a bit of good news. It seems that the latest tropical storm has dropped in intensity to a Category-1 on Thursday and all local warnings and watches are discontinued. Hurricane Omar had previously racked up winds of 115 miles per hour on Wednesday night, strengthening to a Category-3 storm when it hit the Leeward Islands. It is the 15th hurricane this season which ends on November 30th.

The two presidential hopefuls battled it out in their final debate. John McCain and Barack Obama met at a university in New York for this third round, as moderated by a CBS News reporter. In the debate, Obama continued to compare McCain to President Bush, and the Arizona senator clarified to the audience that he is not President Bush and continued by saying he is QUOTE going to give a new direction to this economy and this country. One other moment to note is that when McCain questioned Obama about his relations a reported-terrorist, the Illinois senator said back that he is not involved in the campaign, he has never been involved in it and he will not advise Obama in the White House.
